The “Cool” Factor

Seriously? An ad based on criticizing the president for being too cool? COOL PEOPLE ARE MORE ELECTABLE.

It’s a principle we learned in elementary school and it’s held true since then. The first half of this ad is definitely more likely to make people vote for Obama.

It’s already been noted that this ad bears a striking resemblance to the John McCain ad back in 2008 called “Celeb.” See how well that worked?

American Crossroads is the super-PAC behind this ad but another group, Americans for Prosperity, recently put down $6 million on advertising in important swing states – Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Minnesota, Nevada, Iowa, Colorado and New Mexico. This ad focuses on energy policy.
